ACADEMIC MAJOR:   Pre-Physical Therapy and Athletic Training

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Allyson Helleis played her third season of basketball at Baldwin Wallace University in 2014-2015. The two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete earned her third varsity letter.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION & HONORS:   Allyson carries a 3.72 grade point average, is a Dean’s List student and a Jacket Scholar. She also is a member of the Honors Program and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014 and junior in 2014-2015, Allyson earned Academic All-OAC honors.

GENERAL BASKETBALL INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2012-2013, Allyson played her first season of basketball and earned her first varsity letter.  She played in 23 games and averaged 2.4 points and 1.3 rebounds-per-game. She also had 34 assists and six steals.  She scored a career-high nine points in a 71-60 loss to Otterbein University on Dec. 22. BW finished 16-9 overall.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Allyson played her second season of basketball and earned her second letter. She appeared in all 29 games and averaged 2.2 ppg. and 1.3 rpg. Allyson also registered 47 assists and 14 steals. Allyson was an Academic All-OAC selection. BW finished 22-7 overall, won the BW Invitational title, was the OAC regular season co-champion and advanced to the round of the “Sweet 16” in the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

As a junior in 2014-2015, Allyson played her third season of basketball and earned her third letter. She came off the bench as a guard and played in all 29 games. She averaged 2.6 ppg. and 1.1 rpg. She also had 39 assists(second), eight steals and seven three-pointers. Allyson tied her career-high with nine points against Heidelberg University on February 24, 2015. She also was an Academic All-OAC pick for the second straight year. BW finished 22-7 overall, won the BW Invitational title, captured the OAC Tournament title and earned a berth in the 2015 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

OTHER ORGANIZATIONS:  Allyson is the Secretary of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Allyson grew up in Rocky River, Ohio and graduated from Rocky River High School.

Allyson played basketball for four years and earned four varsity letters. She also played four years of tennis and earned three letters.

As a senior, Allyson was a first-team All-West Shore Conference, was the Rocky River H.S. Top Guard award winner, A Greater Cleveland All-Star and set a RRHS school-record for assists in a single game.  As a junior, she was first-team All-WSC and earned her first RRHH Top Guard Award. As a sophomore, Allyson was the RRHS Most Improved Player and set a school-record for three-pointers in a game.

Academically, Allyson was a strong student and earned High Honors three of four years and Honors once.
